Duration:
8 hs
Difficulty:

Departures:
Daily
Transfer from El Chalten to the Estancia Bonanza suspension bridge from where the path to travel on all-terrain bicycles begins. You cross the Bosque River via the zip line. From there you travel the old La Florida road to El Chalten (14 km). It crosses terrain with very varied characteristics: flat surfaces, ascents and descents, in which you must have technical knowledge of mountain biking. During the tour you have very nice views of Mount Fitz Roy. Upon reaching El Chalten, the bike ride ends. You leave your bicycles and recover your energy next to the river while enjoying a tasty meal.
After lunch, 2:15 p.m., the group prepares with the technical and safety equipment to begin the rafting stage along the Rio de las Vueltas.
For this, the MTB guide will accompany us to the rafting base located at San Martin 872 to equip us. Once dressed in technical rafting clothing, the vehicle will take us to the river from where we will begin the activity.
On the banks of the Río de las Vueltas, a technical and safety talk is given, such as how to hold the oar, the instructions to go forward, bend, go back, so that the entire team rows synchronized. The first section of the river is calm waters, with meanders that allow for beautiful views of Cerro Fitz Roy and its satellite needles. In total, about 6 km in which you can enjoy crossing areas of Andean forest and exiting towards the steppe. It is common to spot birds (condors, cauquenes, bandurrias, among many others) and native fauna (foxes, mulitas, guanacos). In this section you can contemplate the landscape and practice rowing and safety techniques. In the second section, 10 km, the river is encased in a natural canyon, generating about 20 rapids from class III to III +.
It is approximately two hours of navigation along the Río de las Vueltas, with time to contemplate and a good dose of action and adrenaline. Upon disembarking, a comforting snack is offered (hot drink and something delicious to eat). From the RP 23 bridge, the vehicle waits to return to the operational base.
