The southernmost rafting experience in Patagonia Argentina.

It is a rafting experience that takes place in the Río de las Vueltas. This river belongs to the Santa Cruz river basin. An important portion of the waters of the Río de las Vueltas is of glacial origin, partly from the melting of the glaciers in the northern area of ​​the PNLG. It is born in Lago del Desierto, at an altitude of 506 meters above sea level, and flows into Lake Viedma at an altitude of 250 meters above sea level.

The experience begins at the Comaka Rafting & Kayak office, located on San Martin Av. 872 El Chalten, where the guides will receive the passengers and provide them with the equipment (suit, jacket, helmet, life jacket, boots, mittens and paddle).

Once dressed, they will travel with the guides in a van for 5 minutes to the entrance area of ​​the river, where the technical and safety talk of the activity is given. The first section of the river are 6 km

of calm and winding waters, an opportunity to contemplate Cerro Fitz Roy and its satellite needles, the Andean forest, the steppe and eventually native fauna and avifauna, it is the ideal moment to make contact with the raft and practice rowing and safety techniques explained.

The second part advances over the canyon area. After the initial rapid, called “Portage” we will find a succession of rapids from class III to III + for 10 km. It is the moment of adventure and adrenaline. Once the descent is finished, a truck awaits them to return to the base where they will change and enjoy a snack and a drink to recover energy.
